Join Katrina from Art and Rhyme for a relaxed and inspiring workshop where we will explore the wonderful world of collage creating and using upcycled materials to make new art
In this 2 hour session- through guided activities, you’ll learn about some of the techniques and tools that can be used to create collages as well as listen to some poetry inspired by the theme of the seaside to get thinking about the imagery and feelings associated with the theme
Think seagulls , sand , beach scenes , boats and the sea and all the memories and emotions associated with seaside holidays !
You’ll then bring your ideas to life by designing a personalised collage card or poster to take home. Using a rich variety of colourful papers, textures, cut-out shapes, and craft materials like wooden embellishments and buttons, you’ll combine imagery and upcycled materials into a meaningful piece of art.
This workshop is suitable for all abilities. This workshop is suitable for adults and children aged 5+ (children must be accompanied by an adult).
Katrina will draw on her extensive experience to gently guide you through the process—from shaping poetic phrases to exploring colour, pattern, and composition.
All materials and tools are provided from Katrina’s well-stocked craft collection. However, you’re very welcome to bring along your own materials such as newspaper clippings, magazines, old postcards or even old cards you have to make your creation even more personal.
