This is a print of an original piece of collage artwork – each of my artworks are lovingly created from a patchwork of coloured and patterned papers carefully created in my home studio in Richmond North Yorkshire
Additionally I use a wide range of craft punches to add shapes to the image as well as a cornucopia of materials I have gathered together over time
My designs are inspired by the words of my original poems which are often based on themes of nature, the seasons and the beautiful colours and sight associated with them The words of my poems are cleverly woven into the design making a completely unique item
This collage was created using some fabulous card that I was gifted – I had been waiting to be able to use it ! The card has a brilliant pattern of shiny dandelions and I used the remnants of the card from creating another design to create a spiral of colour! I also used an image of a rainbow of dandelions from an old t shirt of mine of all things and was successful in combining 2 images by using the design website Canva
Here are some lines from my poem forming a circle of words around the design:
The faded bluebells of late spring
And the lollipops of dandelion seeds
Give way
To every colour of green available
The birds shrieking
Songbirding
The exalted days
Of nest making
And parenting
The blackbirds guarded warning
Mixed with songs of love
Bringing forth new life
As sure as the trees
Are filled with summers light and warmth
