This is a print of an original piece of collage artwork – each of my artworks are lovingly created from a patchwork of coloured and patterned papers carefully created in my home studio in Richmond North Yorkshire
Additionally I use a wide range of craft punches to add shapes to the image as well as a cornucopia of materials I have gathered together over time
My designs are inspired by the words of my original poems which are often based on themes of nature, the seasons and the beautiful colours and sight associated with them The words of my poems are cleverly woven into the design making a completely unique item
This collage came together so nicely just by combining some beautiful card I had on my desk – the magic of collage comes from transforming a messy desk of various materials into a carefully put together design !
In this design the image of the crescent moon is framed by swirls of matching vines and flowers and additional cut outs from another patterned paper for the stars
The poem is subtly within the circle of the moon in the sky
The awe inspired Moon
Smiled benevolently
Captured in a halo
Of her own beauty
Then she breathed in
As if to draw to herself
Her lighted herringbone clouds
And hide once more
Beneath their sheltered blanket
As if too much love given
Withdraws on itself for protection
And in withdrawing
She cleared the sky
To find her companions
Studded around her
After the sky’s night
Has cried its heart out
Perfect to bring a touch of poetic inspiration to your home or a lovely unique gift
This design cannot be bought on the high street and by purchasing from me you are supporting a small scale art business in the UK
