This Christmas collage artwork print card is a print of an original A5 collage artwork I created especially for the festive season
Each of my artworks are lovingly created from a patchwork of coloured and patterned papers carefully created and printed in my home studio in Richmond North Yorkshire
Additionally I use a wide range of craft punches to add shapes to the image as well as a cornucopia of materials I have gathered together over time
My Christmas designs are inspired by the words of my original poems which have been written especially to reflect the sounds and sights as well as the feelings associated with this special time of year – with a nod to the season of Winter in which Christmas is a central feature .
The words of my poems are cleverly woven into the design making a completely unique item and with this card the poem is also printed on the back
I created this collage from an amazing book of Christmas papers and designs I happened to find in a local charity shop ! I love the unusual darker red and the beautiful imagery of holly and poinsettias to complement the central image of the Christmas tree
Some lines of my favourite poem about the meaning of the Christmas tree are on the front and the full poem printed on the back – I was striving to express how a wild pine tree brings its life force into our homes at Christmas – transforming the darkness into light

The Christmas tree stands
In wisdom and love
Bound to the Earth
Yet touching the sky
For one special time of year
Bringing its life force
Into our homes
Giving us reason
To transform the darkness of Winter
Into the light of Christmas
