This Christmas collage artwork print card is a print of an original A5 collage artwork I created especially for the festive season
Each of my artworks are lovingly created from a patchwork of coloured and patterned papers carefully created and printed in my home studio in Richmond North Yorkshire
Additionally I use a wide range of craft punches to add shapes to the image as well as a cornucopia of materials I have gathered together over time
My Christmas designs are inspired by the words of my original poems which have been written especially to reflect the sounds and sights as well as the feelings associated with this special time of year – with a nod to the season of Winter in which Christmas is a central feature .
The words of my poems are cleverly woven into the design making a completely unique item and with this card the poem is also printed on the back
This collage is made of a patchwork of the beautiful greenery of ivy and the red of the berries so traditionally associated with Winter and Christmas .
I used my collection of craft punches that cut out postage style stamps along with my festive decorative washi tape to put the image together – there are a few lines subtly hidden from my poem about Winter which was written in a mood of celebrating the specific joys such as the feel of cold air and warm pockets !
Here is the poem printed on the back of the card :
To touch the cold air
To swim through it nose first
To feel the numb fingers
To see the clouded breath
To encircle with woollen layers
To feel the warmth of pockets
To come inside to rapid heat
To preserve for a moment
The cold freshness of coats and scarves
To feel the joy of Winter
The sense of cold
The sense of approaching snow
With its peace and muffle
All raise my spirits
With familiarity
Bringing treasured memories
Of childhood’s moments of joy
As Christmas approaches
The card has a blank space inside to add your own greetings or message and are ideal as a luxury and unique card for someone special - a lovely way to send a message this festive season with such a beautiful hand made card !
