This Christmas collage artwork print card is a print of an original A5 collage artwork I created especially for the festive season
Each of my artworks are lovingly created from a patchwork of coloured and patterned papers carefully created and printed in my home studio in Richmond North Yorkshire
Additionally I use a wide range of craft punches to add shapes to the image as well as a cornucopia of materials I have gathered together over time
My Christmas designs are inspired by the words of my original poems which have been written especially to reflect the sounds and sights as well as the feelings associated with this special time of year – with a nod to the season of Winter in which Christmas is a central feature .
The words of my poems are cleverly woven into the design making a completely unique item and with this card the poem is also printed on the back
We may often forget the wildlife that surrounds us and has to live through the cold of Winter outside at Christmas – while we are happily in the warmth of a Christmas room . This collage is an image of a beautiful fox surrounded by the blue hues of snow and ice. I created this collage by using a combination of beautiful decorative tape, some of my old designs of Christmas cards and a central image drawn by my Dad – a perfect combination !
The fox is surrounded by some words from my poem which is printed in full on the back of the card :
The fox sleeps peacefully
In the Winter scene
The colours of Autumn
Within its fur
The fallen leaves
Swept away by Winters advance
He is no longer invisible
Instead a magic glance of fire
Bravely in the muffled snow
Still a distant haunting call
And perhaps
A midnight garden visitor
For a lucky few
The card has a blank space inside to add your own greetings or message and are ideal as a luxury and unique card for someone special - a lovely way to send a message this festive season with such a beautiful hand made card !
