A4 Print Silver Winter Trees

This is a print of an original piece of collage artwork – each of my artworks are lovingly created from a patchwork of coloured and patterned papers carefully created in my home studio in Richmond North Yorkshire

Additionally I use a wide range of craft punches to add shapes to the image as well as a cornucopia of materials I have gathered together over time

My designs are inspired by the words of my original poems which are often based on themes of nature, the seasons and the beautiful colours and sight associated with them  The words of my poems are cleverly woven into the design making a completely unique item

This beautiful silvery winter scene came about after I was gifted some truly beautiful papers – I had them stored safely away and really wanted the best way to use the central image of the silver trees ! Around the central image I also added circles cut from a separate set of pattern paper

This time I wrote the poem to match the design – it is all about how the trees in winter are waiting for the return of Spring

Here are some of the lines of my poem:

The trees in Winter

Stand surveying the sparkle of early morn

Roots in the blanket of snow

Silent in its glorious muffle

That covers Autumns paper dry tears

Like silvery ghosts

Of the past summers glory

Waiting for the gentleness and optimism

Of Springs rebirth
